Coach Kyle Pennington, the new varsity boys basketball head coach, said this basketball season will be one of the most fun, exciting, and challenging seasons yet for the Warriors. Coach Pennington joined the Warrior coaching staff last spring after spending four years as the head coach at Russellville. Coach Pennington brings a winning tradition to Warrior- ville. At Russellville, he was a four-time conference coach of the year, and his teams won the conference championship all four years.
Competing in a new conference this year will present its own set of challenges for the Warriors, as the varsity boys will be part of the newly formed 4A-5 conference, along with Pulaski Academy, Robinson and Hall. However, the varsity boys have trained, been challenged, and have put in the effort to help ensure they are prepared for the season, Coach Pennington said.
Helping lead the Warrior varsity boys this year will be senior athletes Ethan Decastro, Ben Fox, Cooper Longworth, and Travis Watson. The Warriors start their season November 15 with a non-conference game against 6A Bentonville West in Warrior Arena.
