A Night of One Acts is coming to Warrior Hall this Fall. “Sense and Sensibility” and “A Long Walk to Forever” are being directed by Mrs. Shepherd and Mrs. Curry. This dynamic duo has been leading the theatre department for several years and look forward to putting these works together for the school and The Night of One Acts competition amongst forty-two other schools. The cast of “Sense and Sensibility” compete in a Night of One Acts regional on November 15 and hopefully at state in February. There are 26 high school students involved as crew members and 13 actors and actresses in the two plays. The cast of “Sense and Sensibility” must perform in British accents. Behind the scenes, Mia Edwards has been helping Mrs. Emily Garner create handmade costumes for the characters. Unlike the plays in previous years, all tickets to performances on November 14, 16, and 17 are free. However, they ask that people bring donations for The City Center to benefit people in need through various non-profits, serving the homeless, and providing items for ministries in central Arkansas. Donation boxes will be in every building around campus November 13 through the 20 for students and teachers to give. Acceptable items include peanut butter, diapers, socks, blankets, and baby formula. While the elementary and high school students bring non-perishable items, the Junior High and Middle Schoolers will collect canned foods. The LRCA Chapter of the International Thespian Association, Thespian Troupe #8226, has encouraged families to “Stock the City Center” warehouse. Students are being called to be the hands and feet of our community and with the holidays approaching there is no better time to give back to those around us.
